Is SEO Just About Getting Lots of Links?

Monday, July 6th, 2009

Simple Answer. No. Although links to a site are important, it is also important where the links are from. Aside from links, onsite seo optimization is also important. Now, I am aware that a good incoming link campaign is probably the most important aspect, but what if you screwed up your site so bad that search engines ignored it? That happens sometimes. Even if you are confident in running your own link campaign, it can be well worth the money have a search pro look over your site. one or two small tweaks can often be worth thousands of dollars in visitors. Consider it.

Search Engine Optimizing Is Cost Effective

Friday, June 26th, 2009

Search Engine Optimizing, or SEO is a very cost effective way to spend some of your advertising budget. I am often asked by prospective clients why they should pay for SEO services. I think a good explanation is illustrated by a client of mines statistics. Before hiring us, my clients site was indexed in Google for about 4 fairly competitive search terms that were related to their service, but they showed up in the search results any where from 35 to 300. After performing keyword research we decide that there were only about 6 search phrases that really pertained specifically to their product so we targeted those. The customer had pretty good tracking in place and was seeing about 100 visitors a week from search engines. After 7 weeks of SEO we had page 1 on Google for 5 of the 6 search terms and search engine traffic to the site had increased by approximately 180 visitors a week. After 4 months the total increase in visitors was more that 1850 visitors over average. The client paid us $600 total for that 4 months yielding a cost per visitor of about 32 cents a visitor. The client was kind enough to share with us his pay per click cost, which is just over a dollar per visitor on average. To me, there is no better way to increase your targeted traffic than SEO.
